I’m extremely excited to announce that on the 12-09-2021 The Green Party of England and Wales held an event to officially launch the Harlow Green Party, vote in a committee and a constitution. All green members of Harlow were invited to come to the event and cast their votes, thoughts and ideas.
I can now proudly announce that that the event was a success and an executive committee has been elected as follows.
Party Coordinator – Jamie Gilbert
Treasurer (second officer) – Lewis Brand
Nominations Officer – Sally Hardcastle
Membership Officer – Sarah Jarvis
Fundraising Officer – Ben White
I also want to say a huge thank you to all the people of Harlow that have supported us so far, to the many Green members and councillors that have offered their support and to the rest of team who have given so much of their time over the past few months to make this possible, none of this would have been achievable without you all and we look forward to announcing further roles within the party over the coming weeks.
We believe it’s important to launch the Harlow Green Party now more than ever in light of the current climate issues devastating the world and more so in Harlow where it has become apparent that the people are seeking a greener alternative to help restore the infrastructure and put a real focus on ensuring the Harlow expansion is done in a way that provides a better future for us all.
We have received many emails and messages over the past few months from residents all over Harlow expressing concerns over developments that are affecting their quality of life and destroying precious green spaces that make Harlow’s history.
Our plan is to offer a transparent alternative to the current choices in coming elections, to have green representation at all levels of local government so we can fight for what many people in Harlow consider precious. We will be the party that listens and answers to each and every resident of Harlow to ensure their voices are heard.
Over the coming months and years we will be working closely with our communities, we want to understand what is important to each and every person in Harlow and find a solution to deliver a sustainable and safe future for all of us.
