The Great UK Water Blitz
April 25th 2025
Meet at the Moorhen Pub Car Park to set off at 11:30 to collect a testing kit or at Parndon Mill at 12 noon to meet Green Party Peer, Jenny Jones where we will be chatting, having photo’s, taking a test and then walking over the Moorhen.
We are taking part in the Great UK WaterBlitz. We have 10 testing kits and will be going to selected parts of the River Stort heading towards Latton Island and The Harlow Mill. We will stop at various points along the way to test the water.
By joining us on the day you will be part of a UK wide citizen science movement, fighting for healthy freshwater.
The information we provide is crucial and will be used to:
Map water quality across the UK: Creating a comprehensive snapshot of the current state of our freshwater ecosystems.
Identify areas of concern: pinpointing locations where further investigation and action are needed.
Inform conservation efforts: Providing evidence to support initiatives that protect and restore our waterways.
Advocate for policy change: Strengthening the case for stronger environmental regulations and investment in freshwater management.
We will also be joined by Green Party Peer, Baroness Jenny Jones.
We are looking forward to this event and hope to have likeminded friends join us.
