What has Yasmin done for the Harlow Community?

Green Party Party Parliamentary Candidate for Harlow and the Villages Yasmin has served our community in many ways.

Since 2018, she has been a school governor which is very rewarding.  She is a co-Chair of Trustees for Herts & Essex Multi-Academy Trust in Bishops Stortford and a Trustee of Templefields Multi-Academy Trust in Harlow.

She is the Chair of the Local Governing Body of Harlowbury Primary School and Manor Fields Primary School (in Thorley).

She sits on committees such as Personnel, Strategic Development and Pay Committee.  She is the safeguarding lead for one board and has a special interest in children with SEND.

She has previously been the Chair of Harlow Running & Tri Club and volunteers at ParkRun if she isn’t running herself.  She has volunteered at the London Marathon and has the Ride London with HRCT.

She has been Vice Chair of Harlow Cycling Club and has been interviewed on BBC Politics East about potholes as well as BBC Radio Essex.

Last year she took part in one of Ashraf Patel’s Breast Cancer charity events.  She walked part of the Camino Santiago (about 140 km/86 miles) in 6 days.  She says It was a humbling experience to walk knowing that so many friends had been affected by this dreadful disease and it is only by funding important research that we will be able to make a difference.

When Yasmin becomes the MP for Harlow and The Villages she will use the opportunity to raise funds for charity.
