What has Yasmin done for the Harlow Community?

Green Party Party Parliamentary Candidate for Harlow and the Villages Yasmin has served our community in many ways.

Since 2018, she has been a school governor which is very rewarding.  She is a co-Chair of Trustees for Herts & Essex Multi-Academy Trust in Bishops Stortford and a Trustee of Templefields Multi-Academy Trust in Harlow.

She is the Chair of the Local Governing Body of Harlowbury Primary School and Manor Fields Primary School (in Thorley).

She sits on committees such as Personnel, Strategic Development and Pay Committee.  She is the safeguarding lead for one board and has a special interest in children with SEND.

She has previously been the Chair of Harlow Running & Tri club and volunteer at ParkRun if she isn’t running herself.  She volunteers at the London Marathon and has also taken part in Ride London with the club.

She has been Vice Chair of Harlow Cycling Club and has been interviewed on BBC Politics East about potholes as well as BBC Radio Essex.

Last year she took part in one of Ashraf Patel’s Breast Cancer charity events.  She walked part of the Camino Santiago (about 140 km/86 miles) in 6 days.  She says It was a humbling experience to walk knowing that so many friends had been affected by this dreadful disease and it is only by funding important research that we will be able to make a difference.

She is due to run a Half Marathon for Breast Cancer Now in October and has entered the ballot for the London Marathon 2025.

She has been Vice Chair of Harlow Cycling Club and has been interviewed on BBC Politics East about potholes and BBC Radio Essex on cycling related topics.
